While Haryana’s Yogeshwar, who has competed in three world championships, finished with an aggregate score of 74.700, 19-year-old Ruthuja finished last with a score of 43.000.

BIRMINGHAM: Indian gymnasts Yogeshwar Singh and Ruthuja Nataraj finished 15th and 17th respectively in the men’s and women’s all-around finals of the artistic gymnastics event at the Commonwealth Games here on Sunday.

While Haryana’s Yogeshwar, who has competed in three world championships, finished with an aggregate score of 74.700, 19-year-old Ruthuja finished last with a score of 43.000.

England’s Jack German won gold with a total score of 83.450, while silver and bronze went to England’s James Hall and Marius Georgiou, who scored 82.900 and 81.750 respectively in the men’s events.

Yogeshwar was the only Indian male gymnast to qualify for the all-around final after his teammates Saif Tamboli and Satyajit Mondal were eliminated.

In the women’s all-around final, Ruthuja scored 12.950, 10.000, 10.250 and 9.800 on vault, uneven bars, balance beam and floor respectively.

In the final, Australia’s Georgia Godwin (53.550), England’s Ondine Achampong (53.000) and Canada’s Emma Spence (52.350) won gold, silver and bronze.
