The Kannada film industry had long been overshadowed by the Telugu and Tamil industries, catering mostly to regional audiences. However, in 2018, Prashant Neil’s KGF: Chapter 1 starring Yash came in as a welcome change. The nation got a new heartthrob and style icon in Yash and his position was further strengthened with the release of KGF: Chapter 2. Apart from the dialogues, sets and screenplay, fans fell in love with Yash’s outfits.
Yash’s Rocky Bhai gave us major retro vibes. Be it a bright blazer or a solid pant suit set, the fashion aspect was high.
The film’s costume designer Sania Sardaria said, “Yash has emerged as a great role model for the youth. Ever since the release of KGF Chapter 2, people have been asking us to make similar suits for him. has grown tremendously. We get applications from everyone, including top industrialists as well as the common man.”
Talking about the return of the retro look, Sania added that the 70s and 80s, the era on which the film is based, was when fashion was at its peak. “I did my research on the clothes worn in those decades and decided to come up with a retro look that people love.”
KGF Chapter 2 also stars Srinidhi Shetty in the lead role. She is Yash’s love interest in the film. The film also marks the Telugu debut of Sanjay Dutt and Raveena Tandon. Sanjay Dutt plays Adhira, who is inspired by Vikings. Raveena Tandon’s Ramka Sen is a strong political figure.
