The Barbados-based team had earlier announced the appointment of Trevor Penny as the head coach. In addition to Estwick’s appointment, former Jamaica fast bowler Andrew Richardson will remain with the franchise in the dual role of team manager and assistant coach.

Barbados Royals will benefit from their partner franchise Rajasthan Royals’ runner-up finish in the IPL 2022 season, Sid Lahiri, Royals’ head of academy coaching, will be the assistant coach for the CPL 2022 season.

He will be joined as team analyst by Paneesh Shetty, who has also been associated with Rajasthan Royals as part of their analytical setup, and AT Rajamani, whose role as strength and conditioning coach at Barbados Will also extend to the Royals.

The Barbados-based franchise has also appointed Neil Barry as a physiotherapist, Sharon Coppen as the team’s massage therapist and they will also have the expertise of Royals head of analytics and technology, Giles Lindsay. The lead coaches will be supported by Kumar Sangakkara, Royals’ Director of Cricket, and Zubin Bharucha, Director of Strategy, Development and Performance, throughout the season.

Barbados Royals, captained by South African David Miller, will open their CPL 2022 season on September 1 against the St Kitts and Nevis Patriots at the Warner Park Stadium, Basseterre, St Kitts and Nevis.
