The Buffalo Bills have just started training camp, and star quarterback Josh Allen has already made waves. Usually, he does this with his arm, but this time it was a helmet choice.

Before the Bulls’ open practice at Highmark Stadium, Allen ran onto the field in a red helmet. Fans in Buffalo have been calling for replacement helmets, and when Allen jogged onto the field, the crowd erupted in cheers.

As much as the fans enjoyed the change, Allen quickly took the red helmet from him and swapped it for a plain white helmet, much to the outrage of everyone in attendance. Clearly, the fan base thirsts for something different from the Bills.

Allen’s stunt caused such a stir that the team even had to issue a statement While denying that red helmets will be worn during the 2022 season.. In his post, Bulls playfully threw Allen under the bus.

“Disclaimer: Josh Allen cheated on everyone (including social media admin) and we’re stuck with white helmets this season,” the Bulls tweeted. “Please direct all feedback to your favorite QB, (Josh Allen).”

Regardless of which helmet he wears this season, Allen faces some high expectations. In 2021, Allen completed 63.3% of his passes for 4,407 yards, 26 touchdowns and 15 interceptions while adding 763 yards on the ground and six scores.
