Chris Duncan survived the tsunami and turned the tide on Tuesday’s episode of the UFC’s “Rival Series.” Duncan was hurt badly and repeatedly by Charlie Campbell in the main event before turning the lights out on his surging opponent.

Campbell and Duncan came out swinging as they vied for the attention of UFC president Dana White and the possibility of securing a contract with the promotion. Campbell dropped his foe to one knee in a minute of the fight. Campbell continued to press forward, driving knees into Duncan’s sternum and driving his head back with right uppercuts. Duncan looked to his boat for help, but Campbell was intent on driving his opponent away.

Backed up against the fence, it looked like Duncan was completely gone. Campbell closed in on his injured victim and looked ready to finish. Suddenly, Duncan unleashed a straight armbar that immediately put Campbell down. A follow-up shot on the ground knocked Campbell unconscious and ended the first round for Duncan.

Wyatt was fired up after landing three straight decisions in last week’s premiere episode. This week brought far more action. Four fights ended by knockout and the only decision of the night boasted a 10-8 scorecard.

White was so excited that he immediately signed Duncan to a contract with the UFC.

It’s been quite a journey for the Scotsman. He appeared on the same show in September 2021 as he tried to fulfill his dream of competing in the UFC. However, Duncan suffered a TKO against Viacheslav Borschev in the second round. Now, he’s back and ready to prove he belongs in the big leagues.
