Lucknow is now connected to Delhi with three flights, Bengaluru with two flights, Mumbai with one flight, Kolkata with one flight and Goa with one flight a day, the minister added.

The flights between Lucknow and Delhi, Bengaluru and Goa started effective from Friday and between Lucknow and Mumbai and Kolkata from September 1.

Commenting on the work done by his ministry to promote civil aviation in Uttar Pradesh, Scindia said, “I am extremely happy to report that under the UDAN scheme, we have made the state of Uttar Pradesh Pradesh has been allotted 63 new routes and in future, we will increase it to 108 so that civil aviation can reach every nook and cranny of Uttar Pradesh.

The minister also said that Uttar Pradesh is a shining example of ‘Atmanir Bhar Bharat’ and to achieve this, airports are being constructed at Chitrakot, Moradabad, Aligarh, Azamgarh and Sharavasti, apart from Jewar and Ayodhya.

These new projects will further strengthen connectivity between Lucknow and major cities of the country, boosting tourism, trade and commerce in the region. Scindia said they will also offer affordable, timely, safe and hassle-free travel experiences to the people living in Lucknow.
