Sergei Pavlovich delighted the crowd at UFC 277 in Dallas, Texas with his performance against Derrick Lewis. Pavlovic stopped Lewis with a first-round TKO that had people screaming about the early stoppage.

Pavlovic and Lewis threw the leather away. “The Black Beast” immediately pressed Pavlovic against the fence, intending to put on a show for his home state. Pavlovic floored Lewis with a counter right hook that sent him stumbling. The Russian heavyweight chased Lewis across the Octagon and landed powerful punches. Referee Dan Miragliotta intervened the moment Pavlovic dropped his foe.

Lewis protested his halt by quickly jumping to his feet. The roof of the American Airlines Center blew off as the crowd roared in opposition to Pavlovic’s win.

Pavlovic was content to stop by in a post-fight interview with UFC commentator Joe Rogan. Pavlovic said through an interpreter that he did his job and was ready to take it down on Lewis for the duration of the fight.

Pavlovic (16-1) has stopped every fight in his UFC career in the first round and has claimed four consecutive knockout wins. Lewis (26-10, 1NC) has lost the second straight fight in his UFC career.
