Two LA area police officers responded to the call and shot dead.

Authorities say two Los Angeles area police officers were shot dead Tuesday night in response to a possible knife attack.

Two El Monte Police officers were responding to a possible crime scene when they came under immediate fire in the city of La County. Said in a press release.

Both officers were shot and taken to LA County-USC Medical Center, where they were pronounced dead.

The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department said the suspect was also shot dead, according to CBS Los Angeles.

The city, its police force and the Police Officers’ Association said in a joint statement, “There are no words to express our grief and grief over this heinous act as we have learned from the deaths of two of our police officers. Is.”

“It is heavy on our hearts and we are sending our support to their families,” the statement said.
