The Warriors ‘winning streak 14: Spencer Strider’s career night as Atlanta reduced the Mets’ NL East lead to four games

The brave have won again. This time, it was an 8-2 victory over the Nationals, marking the 14th consecutive victory of the Braves.

The stars were Spencer Strider and third baseman Austin Rally.

Strider, who has only been making a fourth start since his role in the long relief went into rotation, showed no hitter in the fifth inning. He will give away two runs on just one hit in 5 2/3 innings, dismissing the most 11 batsmen of his career.

Riley went home twice. The first time he made it 5-2 brave on a two-run shot, so it was a breathtaking home run. The other effectively ended the game by pushing the score to 8-2:

Riley now has 10 home runs and 20 RBIs in his last 20 games. He has 18 homers and 39 RBIs a year.

Of course, these were not the only two. As has been the case throughout the series, the supporting cast was spot on for the heroes. Dansby Swanson turned into another multi-hit game. Rocky Michael Harris continued to provide a spark and is hitting .328 so far. Orlando Arsia has been tasked with trying to replace some of the production lost in possibly Ozzy Elbes’ injury, and he scored 3 for 3 with a home run and two RBIs.

Meanwhile, at Cityfield, the Mets were defeated by the Brewers. Entering the month of June, the Braves outscored the Mets by 10 1/2 games. The Braves have gone 14-0 up in the month and have already reduced the deficit to just four games.

Also, here are the longest winning lines in the history of heroes:

  • 15 Games: April 16 to May 2, 2000
  • 14 games: July 26 to August. 9, 2013
    14 games: current
  • 13 games: July 8 to July 25, 1992
    13 games: April 6 to April 21, 1982

that’s it. The franchise that goes back to the Milwaukee Braves and Boston Braves and the Boston Benites and Doves has never had another series winning more than 11 games – at least not in recorded history.

If it lasts longer, we can start talking about winning lines all the time. They are far from Thursday, but a win on Friday will make 15 straight for the Braves. Recorded MLB History (1901-present) has only 31 winning lines of 15 games or more. The record of winning consecutive games without any loss belongs to the giants of 1916 who were 26 years old. They tied during the streak, however, so the longest winning streak at the age of 22 is the 2017 Cleveland Indians.

Looking ahead, the Braves play a struggling Cabs team in Chicago for a three-game series. He then faces the Giants (four games) and the Dodgers (three games) at home in Atlanta. These are 10 games in total, so if we look at the history, it is coming very soon.
