The makers of Pushpa 2 expect to resume shooting from the end of August after the Telugu film industry strike ends.

‘Pushpa: The Rise became one of the biggest blockbusters of the year when it released. Allu Arjun’s brilliant performance with impressive characterization, action sequences, direction and musical score was widely appreciated by the audience and critics. It also increased the interest of the fans as they eagerly await the release of Pushpa 2: The Role. However, due to the ongoing strike in Telegu industry, the shooting of the film has been stopped.

In an interview with Pinkvilla, Y. Shankar who is the producer of the much awaited film shared some details about the production. He said, “We have a strike going on in the Telugu industry here. Once the strike ends we will start at the end of August, or whenever the strike ends.

He further revealed that he is ready to resume shooting as soon as everything is resolved. “Now, we can’t shoot because the chamber has called a strike for a producer issue. Something internal is going on, so we will be able to start the film once the shooting resumes. But we are ready,” he said. Shankar said.

Earlier, the Active Telugu Film Producers Guild (ATFPG) had officially announced that there would be no shooting of the film from the first week of August. The film body said members of the guild will come together to discuss issues plaguing producers in the wake of the pandemic. Shooting will resume when ATFPG finds a possible solution to the problems.
“With the changing revenue situation and rising costs, it has become important for producers to discuss all the issues we face as a community. All producers in the guild,” the official statement read. The members have voluntarily decided to stop the shootings from August 1, 2022 so that we can sit and discuss till we find a workable solution.

Written and directed by Sukumar, Pushpa: The Rise is a 2021 Indian Telugu-language action drama film about the rise of a coolie in a smuggling syndicate for red sandalwood, a rare wood found in the Seshachalam hills of the state of Andhra Pradesh. Produced by Maithri Movie Makers in association with Matamsiti Media, it featured Allu Arjun as the titular character alongside Fahadh Faasil (his first Telugu film) and Rashmika Mandana while Jagdish Pratap Bandari, Sunil, Rao Ramesh, Dhananjaya, Anasuya Bhardwaj and Ajwaj played supporting roles.

The second part of the film, Pushpa 2: The Roll went on floors in April and is expected to release later this year.
