Steelers star TJ Watt in ‘Pull Ball’ Whoop, Manka Fitzpatrick, a local Pittsburgh woman

TJ Watt can handle playing football at a high level, but that doesn’t mean he can handle the heat from a local pickle ball player. With the Pittsburgh Steelers Line Baker, Mankah Fitzpatrick and Alex High Smith, learn a thing or two from a woman who was just looking for a friendly pickup pickle ball game on Saturday.

All three NFL players were trying to have fun and stay active during the off-season by practicing some good old pickle balls. They played singles on their own for a while, but then they got an extra person to play doubles: a local Pittsburgh woman named Meg.

The woman’s daughter shared a screenshot of her family group chat on Twitter over the weekend, which went viral. In the chat, Meg shared a photo she took with three new friends that she made at the Pickle Ball Court.

“So I went to North Park tonight to jump in a pickup pickle ball game,” Meg wrote. “They started playing with the boys. No one knew who they were. In the last game, the boy in the green shirt and I called the other two. Then everyone else there wanted to take a picture of us.”

That “boy in the green shirt” is Fitzpatrick. As a team, Meg and he proved too much for Watt, a three-time NFL defensive player of the year. Watt was impressed, and he gave credit where credit was due.

“Meg was serving heat. We had trouble all day,” he wrote on Twitter.

Some people still raised eyebrows when they saw these professional footballers struggling in a friendly athletic competition. One of those critics was the Arizona Cardinals’ defensive end, JJ Watt. Like any older brother, he decided to give his younger brother a hard time about it. He asked her to explain herself.

TJ Watt wasn’t going to sit back and talk in the trash, so he challenged his brother to a game to save his honor.

“Anytime, anywhere. One-on-one. I vs. you,” TJ replied.

JJ then came out with some more friendly jokes.

“You lost to me on the pickle ball court two weeks ago,” he replied, ending the conversation.
