Steelers sign new five-year deal with Mankah Fitzpatrick Twice All-Pro becomes the NFL’s highest paid security company.

Three years after trading the first-round pick to acquire it from the Miami Dolphins, the Steelers have twice signed a new five-year deal with All-Pro Safety Mankah Fitzpatrick. What makes it the NFL’s highest paid safetyCBS Sports NFL insider Jonathan Jones has confirmed.

Fitzpatrick’s new contract will include a $ 73.6 million and $ 36 million guarantee with an annual salary of $ 18.4 million, as ESPN first reported. Fitzpatrick was to earn $ 10.6 million as part of its fifth year option this season.

“We are excited to sign a new five-year deal with Manka,” said Umar Khan, Steelers GM. Said in a statement. “Minkah is one of the top defenders in the NFL and we’re glad he’s staying in Pittsburgh for at least the next five years. When we traded for him, we knew he was one of our defenses. It’s a must have, for any Affiliate, promoting any program.

“I’m really excited,” Fitzpatrick said shortly after signing the deal. “I’m still in a state of shock. It’s a blessing. I’m really excited. It’s just the beginning. I value it. I’m grateful. Now I just want to keep cutting.”

“I like the history here. What it means. The standard we stand by. The standard coach (Mike) Tomlin keeps us on and off the field. Winning playoff games, division titles and championship games. Quality.

“I love it here. I’ve been playing well at the top level for the last three seasons. I like the atmosphere, the coaching, the tradition. Being able to continue for the next few years is definitely a blessing.”

Fitzpatrick, 25, has been one of the league’s top players since moving from Miami to Pittsburgh. Fitzpatrick, ranked 11th overall in the 2018 NFL Draft, won the All-Pro award in each of his first two seasons with the Steelers. He made five interceptions, two forced fumbles, three fumble recoveries and two defensive scores in 2019, his first season in Pittsburgh. He had four picks in 2020 and a third pick of his career, while helping the Steelers win the AFC North Division crown.

Last season, Fitzpatrick was often asked to help cover the Steelers’ shortcomings in the front seven. While it reduced interruptions, Fitzpatrick recorded a career-high 129 tackles, up from 45 in the same number of games in 2020.

With Fitzpatrick’s new contract, the Steelers will have two of their top defense players for many years to come. Fitzpatrick has now signed for the 2026 season, while TJ Watt, the NFL defensive player of the year, signed through the 2025 season when he signed a four-year, 112 million extension last summer. Was

Fitzpatrick and Watts are part of the Pittsburgh defensive center, including Kim Hayward, a five-time pro bowler and the team’s longest-serving player. The Steelers’ defense will include several new pieces this season, including former Jaguar linebacker Miles Jack and former Bulls cornerback Levi Wallace.
