Designer duo Falguni and Shane Peacock always put on a great show, whether it’s pret line or haute couture. His show at FDCI India Couture Week 2022 was no exception. Inspired by rich French tapestries and artworks from the Renaissance era, the designers sent their models down the ramp in beautiful and sparkling bridal gowns.
Actress Sara Ali Khan was the showstopper for her, wearing a midnight blue lehenga with pure silk organza appliqué with crystals, pearls and silver and gray sequins. The ensemble was styled with a v-neck blouse and beaded veil.
After the show, Sara was asked where she would also like to wear the outfit, and the actress seemed very excited about Delhi’s nightlife. “I think I want to party somewhere in Delhi, tell me me and my girlfriend are here,” she said. Then she turned to the designers and asked, “Can I borrow it for the night?”
“I think you can wear this dress anywhere, from a cocktail party to a sangeet,” she added. When asked what she likes to wear on a date, the Uttarangi Re star said, “It depends on where the date is and with whom. My outfit is a white Chikankari salwar kurta or a bunch of neon clothes.” May not match.
Falguni Shane Peacock unveiled ‘Love Forever’ at India Couture Week 2022, a collection inspired by his recent visit to London where the designers were honored with the prestigious Shiromani Award for their work and global contribution to the fashion scene. awarded
The collection’s designs have a story that begins with inspiration drawn from Art Nouveau and the breadth of French architecture where elements are married with Indian architectural aspects such as minarets, arches and domes. It celebrates the land that is home to countless works of art and some of the most famous masters in the history of modern art and design — Chagall, Picasso, Braque, Le Corbusier.
The collection features detailed paintings that showcase the best of Indo-Persian culture and architecture. From replicating the myriad structures of architectural gems on the joints to embellishing them with refined stones and pearls, the collection reflects the essence of French tapestry in traditional Indian wear. The chrome applique technique replicated the textural marvel and elements of both cultures onto the fabric.
