Playing with an open guard for the better part of the contest, Tokas spent the first round on defense as Coty took the offensive role. While Coty landed more punches than Tokas, he was not clean and the Indian defended well to secure a 4-1 win. In the second round, Tokas, who is making his CWG debut, looked more confident and landed several right jabs and hooks on his opponent to win it.

Tokas took himself out in the last three minutes as he rained punches on his opponent. Kote had no answer to the Indian onslaught as all five judges ruled in favor of the latter. Tokas is now just one win away from securing a medal.
