India beat Barbados by 100 runs to enter the Commonwealth Games 2022 semi-finals. Renuka Thakur took four wickets in his first three overs and two of them came in the first over. Chasing 163, Barbados were stumped at 19/4 and were never in contention to win the match with their top batsmen such as Deandra Dutton and captain Hayley Mathews giving up their wickets without a fight. In the end, Harmanpreet Kaur bowled himself and Shafali Verma as India bowled 9 bowlers in the 20-over match, indicating that their victory after the first ten overs was a mere formality.

Apart from this, Thakur, captain Harmanpreet, Meghna Singh, Asnia Rana and Radha Yadav took one wicket each.

Earlier, India had batted first and lost the wicket of Smriti Mandhana early. But from here Shafali Verma (43 off 26) and Jemima Rodriguez (56 off 46) put the opposition on the backfoot by putting on a partnership of 71 runs. Later, some confusion saw Verma lose his wicket and his departure led to the fall of skipper Harmanpreet Kaur who was dismissed LBW. But from here, Rodrigues, along with Deepti Sharma, once again made a stand to counter-attack.
