PM Modi to launch over Rs 3 lakh crore distribution sector scheme to help discoms

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the new distribution sector scheme of the power sector through video conferencing on Saturday, July 30. With an outlay of over Rs 3 lakh crore over five years from FY 2021-22 to FY 2025-26, the scheme aims to provide financial support to DISCOMs. It also aims to improve the operational capabilities and financial stability of DISCOMs and electricity departments. The Prime Minister will launch the scheme at 12:30 pm that day, as part of the final phase of ‘Ajol Bharat Ajol Bhaveshiya – Power @2047’.
