NFL Announces 2023 Calendar Year Critical Dates: NFL Draft Reveals League New Year

At the end of the 2022 off-season, the NFL has begun preparations for next year’s off-season. The league confirmed on Tuesday that the 2023 NFL Draft will be held in Kansas City from April 27-29. The league’s new year begins on Wednesday, March 15 at 4 pm ET, and teams will be able to nominate franchise and transition tags from February. March 21 to 7.

While plans for the next off-season are taking shape, there are several important dates on the NFL calendar that will affect the 2022 season. Teams have until July 15 at 4pm to agree on a long-term contract for players who have been tagged in the franchise. One notable player who is definitely keeping an eye on this date is Bates III, like Bengals Safety, who has made it clear that he wants a new contract before the start of the 2022 season. If Bates does not sign the extension, he has until November 4 at 4 p.m. He will leave 15 or so for the rest of the season to sign his franchise tag.

Teams can start training camps in mid-July, starting in August. 4 playing the Hall of Fame game in Canton, Ohio. This year’s game will see the Jacksonville Jaguars clash with the Las Vegas Riders. The Jaguars will see their first former player in the Hall of Fame this summer with the addition of former offensive tackle Tony Boselli. The Riders will celebrate the inclusion of former receiver and three-time Super Bowl champion Cliff Branch.

The final games of the 2022 pre-season will be played in August. 28. Teams will then have to cut their roster to 53 players by 4pm on August. 30. The team can continue training camp exercises until September. 4, with the regular season officially starting the next day.

The league’s 103rd regular season will begin on Thursday, September. 8, when defending champion Rams welcomed the Buffalo Bulls to Los Angeles for a prime time showdown.
