From his journey in television to now headlining big films, Murunal Thakur has come a long way. She rose to fame with the popular television show Kum Kum Bhagya and later acted in several big budget films including Super 30, Tofan and Jersey. Mrunal is now all set to leave his mark in Telugu cinema with his much anticipated debut with ‘Sita Ram’.
In a recent chat with news agency IANS, the actress spoke about the hurdles she faced while working on her Telugu debut. He also revealed that he had to undergo two months of intensive training in Telugu to do justice to his character. For this, a private language tutor Suvarna Majhi was roped in to give Telugu classes to the actress. It took Mrunal Thakur two hours a day for two long months to master the pronunciation and grammar of his language.
Elaborating on her role in the film, Mrunal shared, “I have always been fascinated by the interiors of India. The characters that emerge from these settings are likable, fascinating, complex and most importantly. The thing is, very real. I love a challenge, so the fact that people are appreciating how I portrayed Sita in the film (based on their reaction to the trailer and the songs) is a treat for me. A great compliment.
“I took it upon myself to make sure that my diction was spot on in the film. I usually try to fit myself into my characters, so I did one for Sita Ram. Then trained in diction”, adds Mrunal.
Sita Ram is a love story of a soldier set in the backdrop of war. Apart from Marunal Thakur, this film also stars Dulquer Salmaan in the lead role. Apart from the leads, the film also stars Sumanth, Thirun Bhaskar, Gautham Menon, Bhumika Chawla, and Murali Sharma. It is slated to release in theaters on August 05 this year.
