MLB Rumors: Yankees’ Joey Gallo drawing interest from three teams The Giants are open for sale.

The 2022 MLB trade deadline is Tuesday, Aug. 6 at 6 p.m. 2, so teams now have less than 72 hours to fill their needs and refine their rosters for the stretch run. We’ve already seen some big names dealt and there are surely more trades to come. Here are Sunday’s trade deadline rumors.

The Giants are open for sale.

The struggling Giants are open to being traded and willing to talk about anyone on their roster besides Logan Webb. reports The New York Post. Outfielder Joc Pederson, who is currently on the concussion list, and lefty Carlos Rodin are the club’s two top trade chips. Teams will also undoubtedly make calls about Mike Yastrzemski and Austin Slater.

Roden’s potential availability would put another high-end starter on the trade market. Already saw that Luis Castillo tackled the Mariners.. The veteran lefty can opt out of his contract after the season, so he’s likely a rental, but he’s also a difference-maker who can dominate great lineups even on his best days. The southpaw could deliver a real nice prospect package to San Francisco.

The Brewers, Padres and Rays are among the teams interested in Yankees outfielder Joey Gallo. Reports USA Today. All three clubs were interested in Gallo at the trade deadline, when he was dealt to New York. Gallo has struggled badly with the Yankees. Their recent addition of Andrew Benintendi That all but ensures he will play elsewhere after Tuesday’s trade deadline.

All three clubs interested in Gallo need offense, especially in the outfield, and that includes Tampa. They acquired David Peralta from the Diamondbacks on Saturday.. The Yankees can’t expect more than a modest prospect for salary relief and/or Gallo at this point, and at least few teams seem willing to roll the dice on a three-time 38-homer at-bat.

The Cardinals have held trade talks with the Astros that included right-hander Jake Odorizzi. According to St. Louis Post-Dispatch. St. Louis has also considered Red Sox righty Nathan Evaldi and Angels righty Noah Syndergaard, though it’s not known if there have been trade talks between the two incoming free agents. Clearly, the Cardinals want — and need — rotation help.

Houston is one of the few contenders with enough rotation depth to trade a starter. They currently have six starters (Odorizzi, Cristian Javier, Luis Garcia, Jose Arquedi, Framber Valdez, Justin Verlander) plus Lance McCullers Jr. Is close to returning from his flexion injury. The Astros figure to be looking for a center fielder at the trade deadline more than anything else.
