Ibrahim Conte picked up a knock during the second half of the friendly between Liverpool and Strasbourg.
Liverpool centre-back Ibrahim Konate is set to miss the start of the new season with an injury picked up during the weekend’s friendly against Strasbourg, the Premier League club said on Thursday.
The France international, 23, was carried off after picking up a knock during the second half of Sunday’s 3-0 defeat to the French side.
“Unfortunately, I have to spend some time off the pitch but it won’t be too long,” Konate wrote on Instagram.
“In the meantime, I will do my best to be even stronger and support the boys.”
After joining from RB Leipzig in May 2021, Connett played 29 times in all competitions last season as Jurgen Klopp’s side finished a point behind Manchester City in the league and reached the Champions League final.
Liverpool open their league campaign at newly promoted Fulham on Saturday.
