Vijay’s daughter Reema Pandey has demanded a CBI inquiry into the matter and alleged that her brother and father are being “falsely implicated” by showing the recovery of weapons.
A large cache of arms was recovered from a hideout of former MLA Vijay Mishra’s son Vishnu Mishra in Uttar Pradesh’s Bhadohi district on Thursday. According to the police, one AK-47 rifle, one pistol, four AK-47 magazines, 375 cartridges of AK-47 and nine cartridges of 9 mm pistol were recovered from the petrol pump managed by Vijay. The raid was conducted on the basis of details given by Vishnu during his five-hour long police remand.
Vijay Mishra, former MLA of Gianpur assembly seat in Bhadohi district, is currently in jail. His son, who carries a reward of Rs 1 lakh, was arrested by the Special Task Force (STF) Pune some time ago and lodged in Bhadohi District Jail after being produced in court on Thursday.
Bhadohi SP Dr Anil Kumar said that based on the details given by Vishnu, a cache of arms was recovered from a petrol pump run by Vijay, against whom eight cases have been registered in different police stations.
