Kumud Mishra started his Bollywood journey with Shyam Benegal’s Sardari Begum. However, for ten years, the actor was nowhere to be seen. His breakthrough with Imtiaz Ali’s Rockstar opened up multiple domains for the veteran actor. Later, he acted in several critically acclaimed films including Malik, Article 15, and MS Dhoni: The Untold Story. In a recent chat, Kumud Mishra talked about his recent OTT release Dr. Arora-Gupta Rog Visheshgaya, which premiered on July 22.
Speaking to PTI, the actor said that he was keen to work with Imtiaz Ali once again and hence immediately agreed to come on board when he was offered the role. “I know his sensibility and that he doesn’t approach the subject matter to please the audience or for cheap humor in it. Ultimately, Imtiaz Ali’s aesthetics are there in the show and I am satisfied with that,” he said. .
The actor added, “With this show, a dialogue will start in society and we may be able to normalize the conversation around sex.”
Kumud Mishra also spoke about the unpredictable nature associated with the acting profession and said that he was aware of all these uncertainties when he decided to become an actor. “As an actor, there are no hurdles and no problems because it is me who chose this profession. I was aware of all the uncertainties that it brings… a struggle but It’s internal,” he said.
Dr. Arora is a good drama depicting the life story of a small town sex counselor who helps men and women with problems in their sex lives. Along with Kumud Mishra, the series also stars Gaurav Prajoli, Vivek Mishra, Ajitish Gupta, Vidya Malwade, Sandipa Dhar and Shekhar Suman. It is produced by Mohit Chaudhary.
