Kucha Sudeep’s Vikrant Rona released in theaters last week. The film also stars Jacqueline Fernandez in an important role. Vikrant Rona received mixed response from critics. As soon as the film was released, fans and critics started comparing it to the 2015 film Rangitaranga. Many called Vikrant Runa, Rangitaranga 2.0. However, Kucha Sudeep has a different opinion. Southstar said he did not see Rangitaranga. Asked about the similarity issue, the actor said he is not “bothered” by it.
Speaking to a Kannada news portal, Kecha Sudeep said that both Vikrant Runa and Rangitaranga are based on a common man fighting the system and are filled with a social message. Vikrant Rona is in the same line, says the actor, adding that if people think it’s Rangitaranga 2, or that it’s similar to Rangitaranga, then they’re fine with it.
Question, Kucha Sudeep said, is this the same movie? He asserted that Rangitaranga and Vikrant Rona are not the same. Sudeep says that as long as people are watching his film, it doesn’t matter to him whether they call it Rangataranga 2 or 3. It’s from the same director in the same universe, but it’s different and that’s what counts. Actor
Director Anup Bhandari also addressed this issue and said that Vikrant Runa Rangitaranga is a separate story in the universe of cinema.
Kucha Sudeep’s Vikrant Rona is produced by Manjunath and Shalini Gowda and co-produced by Alankar Pandian. It is directed by Anoop Bhandari. Both Vikrant Rona and Rangitaranga were directed by Anup Bhandari.
Vikrant Rona released last week in Kannada, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam in 2D and 3D.
