Kareena Kapoor Khan recalls her meeting with Saif Ali Khan’s first wife Amrita Singh on the sets of Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham. The actress recently appeared on Karan Johar’s popular chat show Koffee With Karan along with her ‘Lal Singh Chadha’ co-star Aamir Khan. During her appearance, the actress spoke about her equation with her stepdaughter Sara Ali Khan, who she said has been her fan since childhood.
Kareena and Saif, co-stars of films like Tishan and Omkara, got married in 2012. Their first son Taimur was born in 2016. The couple welcomed their second child Jaya on February 21, 2021. Saif Ali Khan has two grown children with his first wife Amrita Singh – Sara and Ibrahim Ali Khan.
“I remember at the K3G trials, she (Sarah Ali Khan) was hiding behind her mom. And Amrita was actually like, ‘Sarah really wants a picture because she’s such a big fan. She really liked Poo in KGG.’ Liked and ‘You are my Sonia’. But I don’t know why people argue about it so much, because I mean we are family, and like Aamir said if love and respect and understanding It is what it is. They are Saif’s children, they are his priorities,” said Kareena.
Kareena added that it is important for Saif to give time to each of his children and she wants to be a supportive partner by giving him that space. She said, “Why should it be difficult? Everyone has their time. Saif has a child every decade, he balances it beautifully, as they say. And it seems if ever Sometimes we’re all together and it’s great. Sometimes if he wants alone time, like coffee or an hour or two alone with Sarah, he’ll always let me know. He’ll be like, ‘I Sitting with her. I’m going to be alone, I’m going to chill. I want to give her that special time.’ They went on vacation together. I think it’s important for them to bond. They have everything but they only have one father… It doesn’t come across to me the way people argue about it.
