Jackie Bhagnani refuted rumors that Bige Mian Chhote Mian, starring Akshay Kumar and Tiger Shroff, was almost done.
Pooja Entertainment’s Jackie Bhagnani rubbishes the rumor that Big Mian Chhote Mian is almost over. The producer took to Twitter to retweet a report claiming that the film is in financial trouble, which has pushed it to the backburner. The report further claimed that Akshay and Tiger took a pay cut to keep the film going.
Addressing the claims, Jackie wrote on Twitter, “Absolutely false!! Source-The Producer (I’m sure I’m trustworthy ?) get ready for this action-packed blast that was always on track.
To make matters worse, an alleged source told Bollywood Hungama on Monday that the production house has planned to put the film on the back burner due to the failure of Heropanti 2, Bachchan Pandey and Samrat Prithviraj. “It was not financially possible to make a budget,” he added. The report also claims that Akshay is receiving Rs. 144 crore, Tiger Rs. 45 crores and the film’s director Ali Abbas Zafar is reportedly receiving Rs.45 crores. 25 crores for the film.
“While Akshay has cut his fees by 50 per cent and entered into a hybrid model of profit sharing and upfront fee working, Tiger and Ali have also reduced their remuneration by 20 to 35 per cent. According to a report by Pinkvilla, Bade Mian Chhote Mian is one of the most expensive action thriller films of next year with a total budget of Rs 300 crore. Big Mian Chhote Mian will be shot in London. Taking into account the marketing cost of the film, the total budget of the Akshay-Tiger starrer will be in the range of Rs 350 crore, the highest ever for a Hindi film.
Big Mian Chhote Mian is eyeing a 2023 release.
