The IT department raided the official distributor of the film Veeruman, Sikhthivel Company. The firm distributes films produced by Suriya and films purchased by him. Sakthivel films are mostly released in Tamil Nadu. According to the agencies, a team of seven officers reached the company’s office and searched the premises.
The Income Tax department raid started at 5 am. Other officials in the department are looking for partners in Sukthivel. The IT department’s hit list includes actor Suriya and his relatives SR Prabhu, Ganavel Raja, actor Karti’s friend Prince Pichar Laxman and financier Anbach Chezian. Sakthivel’s production house, Shakti Film Factory, is also under investigation.
A similar investigation is underway by the Income Tax Department against Kalipalli S Thanu, Sathya Jyothi Thiagarajan, and distributors Munnar and S Beecher Senu. Speculations are rife that this film might hamper the release of Veeroman. Veeroman will hit the theaters on August 31 on the occasion of Ganesh Chaturthi.
Talking about the film, Veeroman is said to be a family drama. It is set in a village area. For the shoot, the crew traveled extensively to Theni and Madurai regions. The film talks about the importance of relationships and family in life. Veeroman stars Prakash Raj, Rajkaran, Saranya Poonvanan, Soori and Karunas. The director’s daughter Aditi Shankar will play the role opposite Karthi.
On the management front, he is bankrolled by Surya and Jyothika under their 2D Entertainment banner. The soundtracks of Veeroman are composed by Yuvan Shankar Raja. The song rights of Veeroman are shared with Sony Music India. Veeroman will clash with Pisaso 2. The horror drama film is directed by Myskin.
