The Indian women’s fours team qualified for the semi-finals of the lawn bowls competition at the 2022 Birmingham Commonwealth Games on Sunday after defeating Norfolk Island.
Lolly Choubey (lead), Pinky (second), Nenmuni Saikia (third) and Rupa Rani Turki (skip) won the Indian quarter-final match 17-9.
All four teams will play New Zealand in the semi-finals on Monday.

Earlier, the Indian men’s pair of Dinesh Kumar and Sunil Bahadur defeated England to reach the quarter-finals.
Dinesh Kumar (skip) and Sunil Bahadur (lead) won 18-15. The pair were leading 10-5 after the eighth end and thwarted the English pair’s comeback attempt.
The Indian pair lost their first game against Malaysia 14-17 on Friday but bounced back with wins against Falkland Islands (36-4) and Cook Islands (15-8).
They will now face Northern Ireland in the quarter-finals later in the day at 10.30pm.
Tania Chowdhury registered a convincing win over Northern Ireland’s Shauna O’Neill 21-12 in the women’s singles event. She was already out of the competition.
The Indian men’s triple team also crashed out of the event after two losses and a tie.
