Google has been forced to come out in the open and reassure users that its online gaming platform Stadia isn’t shutting down anytime soon.
The company usually avoids making such strong statements, but it was forced to do so after a social media post circulating this week claimed the search company was pulling the plug on its gaming project.

This post was also shared on Twitter. The handle Called Killed by Google, it basically talks about all the products that Google has killed over the years. While there was no way to verify who owned the Twitter handle, the message shared by the handle was clearly strong enough for Google to come forward and confirm the report, one way or another.
Here’s what the post says about Google Studio and its future:
Caution:
An old colleague and friend of mine, is now one of Google’s regional managers. He’s actually the one who got me started with Stadia. They had a huge employee/retail seminar in California this past weekend, and long story short Google is starting to plan their exit. They didn’t have an exact date when the service would end, but said by the end of summer. They also stated that they will not transfer their services or servers to any other competition, and it will be the same as they did with “Google Play Music”.
A single exit method and strategy
I’m obviously not as big of a fan as some of you, but you guys have always been so nice and helpful so I thought I’d return the favor and give you a heads up.

If you want I can post some more details but nothing too important. I believe he also stated that all members would be notified 30-60 days in advance, and that the last month of service would be refunded and there would be no charge for its use.
Also, any available subscription months will be refunded in full to your linked bank account.
I will talk to him tonight and ask you a question.
Thanks again guys.
Blessings.
And after seeing the post, the backlash began, with many fearing the worst. But Google responded to one such user on social media and confirmed that Stadia is not shutting down. He even assured that people will see more games added to the platform. And if that wasn’t enough, Google sent a cheeky response to the post from the Stadia handle a few days ago.
Just a heads up
My old colleague is now one of Google’s social managers. They had a great seminar this past weekend in California, and long story short you can now play Wavetale at no extra cost on Stadia Pro until August 1st: https://t.co/2O6P0Kd8Kd pic.twitter.com/Hjo0pvARKx

Stadia has officially been around for a few years, but its availability is limited to select countries. India never got Stadia and we don’t expect that to change anytime soon.
