Genelia Deshmukh Takes Back Fit on Her 6-Week Fitness Regimen: Fitness for Moms

In June this year, actor Genelia Deshmukh embarked on a six-week fitness journey and documented it on her blogs on YouTube under the title #GoGeneGo. Her rigorous fitness regime finally paid off on July 29 and she is happy with the results.

While she is a regular at the gym, Deshmukh told News18 that the six-week regime was crucial in helping her take a step closer to her fitness goals. “I realized that I needed a very focused trip to focus on myself and my health while doing other things,” she says.

She reveals that her carelessness with diet, proper sleep and lifestyle over the past six months has also forced her to take her health more seriously, as she adds, “Going to the gym was a thing. Which was really difficult. I started it after the lockdown because of Riteish’s (Desh Mukh; actor husband) encouragement. I used to find ways to bunk with him instead of being diligent and regular. I was just a I wanted to get back to normal.

During the first week of her fitness journey, she posted on social media that she felt “uncertain, uncertain, uncertain” during the process as she too returned to shooting after a decade. The 34-year-old explained, “I had to get up at 5am every morning, exercise, drop the kids off at school and then go straight to shooting. Then I would shoot for the whole day. And would come back home at 9pm. I would try to complete my steps either during the shoot or after coming back. I would sleep only after that.”

Ask him if getting back into films was also a reason to adopt a better lifestyle, and Deshmukh says, “It was definitely motivational but it wasn’t the only reason. It wasn’t that I wanted to glamorize fitness.” There are moments in my videos where you will see me stepping out in my night clothes.

The Tere Naal Pyaar Ho Gaya (2012) actor says that for the past six weeks, his task has been to not let fitness take a backseat despite a busy schedule. “I want to say that for moms, fitness takes a step back. That’s something that needs to change. You need to make time for fitness and yourself because it’s only going to help you. is,” she concludes.
