Emma Thompson was recently spotted in a bright orange kurta from the sets of her upcoming film What Love Got To Do With It, directed by Shekhar Kapur. In a photo shared on Instagram by the film’s producers, Working Title Films, the British actress is seen in traditional Indian attire while filming with co-star Lily James, who will play her daughter in the film.
Written by Jemima Khan, the film also stars Shahzad Latif, Shabana Azmi, Sajal Ali, Meem Sheikh, Asim Chaudhry, Jeff Mirza and Iman Bujeelwa. The producers said in their Instagram post that the film will have its world premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival. It will be played at Roy Thomson Hall on Saturday 10th September.
In the photos released, both Emma and Lily are beaming their lively smiles. While Emma flaunted a bright orange kurta with heavy ethnic earrings and a bracelet, Lily looked cute in a simple black striped top. Two other pictures of the star cast from the sets were also shared.
Emma’s country style gained a lot of attention. Fans can’t wait to see how the film will turn out. “Blockbuster hit,” said one comment. “This is great, can’t wait,” read another comment. “Very interesting!!,” wrote one user with three heart emojis.
What does love have to do with it? A film about documentary filmmaker and dating app addict Zoe (Lily James) who has no luck swiping right on dating apps. He only mixed her up with the wrong men, much to the dismay of her mother, Keith (Emma Thompson). Zoe’s childhood friend and neighbor Qaz (Shehzad Latif), on the other hand, decides to follow his parents’ example and opts for an arranged marriage with a bride from Pakistan.
Zoe films Kaz’s journey from London to Lahore to marry a stranger chosen by her parents. The project made her wonder if she could learn anything from this completely different way of finding love.
The music of this cross-cultural romantic comedy is composed by Nitin Sahni. Indian singers Kanika Kapoor and Rahat Fateh Ali Khan will also feature in the soundtrack.
