The government informed the Lok Sabha on Friday that the country’s dropout rate at all levels of education, including primary, upper primary and secondary, has been steadily declining. Union Women and Child Development Minister Smriti Irani said this in response to a written question on whether the number of school dropouts has increased in view of the Covid-19 outbreak.

“According to information provided by the Department of School Education and Literacy (Ministry of Education), the drop-out rate has been steadily decreasing at all levels of education, including primary, upper primary and secondary.”
