Popular comedian and actor Sunil Grover has won the hearts of many and made us laugh heartily with his hilarious comedy timings. He pours his soul into every role he plays. Best known for his TV characters Guthi and Dr Mashwar Gulati in Comedy Nights with Kapil Sharma and The Kapil Sharma Show respectively, he has spent nearly two decades in the entertainment business.

Sunil rose to fame with the role of Gathi and won a place in the hearts of many and soon became a household name.

Sunil has played important roles in several films such as Bharat, in which he played the role of Salman Khan’s best friend and was praised for his impeccable acting. He stunned the audience as he excelled in a serious role in the web series Tando.

1. Sunil Grover was born in Sirsa, Haryana. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree (B.Com) in Commerce from Guru Nanak College and a Master’s Degree in Theater from Chandigarh University.
2. The comedian started his career as an RJ for Radio Mirchi. He played the role of Sudarshan alias Sood and hosted the show Laughter.
3. Sunil started his journey as a comedian with veteran actor Jaspal Bhatti in Full Tension which aired on DD National in 1995.
4. Before climbing the ladder of success, the actor played a small role in the film Pyaar Toh Hona Hi Tha, starring Ajay Devgan and Kajol.
5. Sunil Grover once revealed that the iconic character, Guthi, was actually inspired by a classmate of his.
6. Sunil also walked the ramp like a Mundira Bedi supporter and sported a saree ensemble in the Guthi style.
7. He started his TV career with Chala Lalan Hero Bane. He was also the ambassador of the film channel for some time.
