Delhi’s first monkey pox patient has been discharged from LNJP Hospital, senior officials said on Tuesday. A 34-year-old man from West Delhi tested positive last month. Fourteen of his contacts, including the doctor who first treated him, were quarantined but none of them developed symptoms, officials said.

He said that the person was discharged on Monday night. Meanwhile, the second monkey pox patient in the city, a Nigerian, is in stable condition.

He said he had fever, skin eruptions and blisters and was being monitored by doctors at the Delhi government-run LNJP Hospital, Nodal Hospital, to treat the infection. He added that the test reports of the remaining two suspected patients are awaited.

So far seven cases of monkeypox have been reported in the country, two of which are from Delhi.
