A Hollywood producer has been charged with murder in the overdose deaths of an aspiring model and her architect friend, who were knocked unconscious outside separate hospitals in Los Angeles last year.
David Pierce, 40, has been in prison since December 2021 on unrelated rape charges, and last week the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office issued a new murder charge against him in connection with the deaths of 24-year-old Christy Giles and 26-year-old. The count was filed. Old Hilda Marcella Cabrils Arzula, The Los Angeles Times reported.
In addition, actor Brandt Osborne, 42, was charged with aiding and abetting the murder of women. He is currently out on bond, but his arrest warrants have been issued.
A third man initially arrested in the case, identified as 47-year-old cinematographer Michael Ansbach, has not been charged.
Giles’ family welcomed the news, writing on Instagram Stories: “Finally! Justice is coming.”
Pierce’s lawyer said his client intended not to plead guilty during his July 11 appearance.
Attorney Jacob Glixman told the Pierce newspaper that he “strongly denies any connection” with the unfortunate deaths of these women.
Giles’ lifeless body was dumped on a Toyota Price without a license plate by two masked men outside a hospital in Clover City, California on November 13, 2021.
Shortly afterwards, the same men left Cabrales-Arzola at the Kaiser Permanente Hospital in West Los Angeles. She died on November 24 after 11 days in a coma and was pronounced brain dead.
The LA County Medical Examiner-Coroner’s Office has ruled that the women’s deaths were homicides.
Authorities have determined that both Giles and Cabralis-Arzula died of “multiple drug addiction.”
At the time of Giles’ death, his system contained a deadly cocktail of cocaine, fentanyl, ketamine and the notorious rap drug gamma hydroxybutyrate acid, or GHB.
Cabrales-Arzola tested positive for cocaine and MDMA, commonly known as ecstasy, as well as other unspecified drugs that cause multiple organ failure.
Pierce was initially arrested on suspicion of murder, while Osborne and Ensbach were charged with conspiracy to commit murder.
Police said the three suspects had attended a warehouse party with the victims hours before their deaths, and the women later continued the night at Pierce’s apartment.
Two days after his arrest, Pierce was charged with raping four women between 2010 and 2020.
He had previously pleaded not guilty to two counts of rape and one count of raping an unconscious or sleeping man and having sex with a foreign object, but last week prosecutors charged Pierce with sexual assault. Added new issues of, which are now accused of violating seven. Women
One of the alleged victims told police that Pierce offered her whiskey, which caused her to black out and then a bottle of alcohol. When she managed to fight him, the producer allegedly threatened to harm her family, a probation officer wrote in a report obtained by the LA Times.
According to the report, another woman claimed that Pierce raped her when she was unconscious and then threatened to harm her loved ones.
