CUET 2022 continues to experience technical glitches for the second day, NTA issues clarification

Technical glitches on the second day of the Common University Entrance Test-Undergraduate (CUET-UG) 2022 Phase II on Friday forced the National Testing Agency (NTA) to postpone the examination at 50 centers across the country. Some students also claimed to have received communication from the NTA late at night, telling them that their Saturday exam has been postponed due to administrative and logistical reasons.

On Thursday, the first shift exam was canceled at a few centers in 17 states, while the second shift exam was canceled at all 489 centers. Several students complained that they were made to wait for two hours only to be informed that the exams scheduled for the day had been cancelled. Candidates also looked panicked as the agency did not release the admit card on Sunday.

On the second day, 20 centers in the first shift and 30 centers across the country in the second shift were postponed. “Technical issues were reported at some centres, after which reports were sought from ground observers and city coordinators. Based on their recommendations, a decision was taken to postpone the exam,” said a senior NTA official.

However, the agency has not announced any new date for the re-examination. Ganika, who wants to pursue BA (Hons) Sociology at Delhi University, said, “I came from Chhatarpur to the examination center in Noida Sector 64 (about 34 km). We were seated at the terminals. At 12 pm we were told that the exam would not be conducted today due to technical issues. Yesterday, my sister came from Narila to this center (about 84 km) but had to return due to the same problem. “This is the height of mismanagement,” he added.

Another candidate of CUET, Himanshe Udar, also made a similar complaint. “I left my house in Dwarka Sector 51 (44 km) at 5.30 am to reach the center on time. But we were told after about three hours that the paper will not be due today and we have to come back on August 12. It is very difficult to travel so far,” he said. Her mother said it was also difficult for the parents as many of them took time off from work with their wards.

The second phase of CUET-UG got off to a rough start on Thursday as technical and administrative issues forced the NTA to cancel the second shift examination in all 489 centers and postpone the first shift at some locations in 17 states. These exams will be held on August 12.

The NTA has postponed CUET-UG in Kerala – scheduled for August 4, 5 and 6 – due to heavy rains, and said fresh dates will be announced later. Although the agency said on Thursday that the same admit card would be valid for those who could not take the exam, some students claimed on Friday that they were asked to tear it.

Roshni, who traveled from the North Campus area, said, “I have to appear at the same center tomorrow for my Section 2 exam. We have been assured that the exam will be held. But yesterday’s and today’s scenes Looking at the letter, it doesn’t seem likely. Candidates whose exam is on August 7 took to social media throughout the day, tagging NTA over admit card issues. Besides, there are candidates who took to social media. shared their admit cards on the media, claiming that they were allotted cities they had not opted for.
