Many times, our day starts with drizzle during the monsoon season. And needless to say, we crave hot onion fritters with tea. Chai pakora combo is loved by all, especially during monsoons. If you too want to enjoy onion pakoras in rainy season, we have an easy recipe. With the help of this recipe, you can make delicious pakoras in minutes.
Besan – one and a half cup
Rice flour – 1/4 cup
Onion – 3 to 4
Green chillies chopped – 3 to 4
Cumin powder – 1/4 teaspoon
Red Chilli Powder – 1 teaspoon
Turmeric – 1/4 teaspoon
Ginger paste – 1 teaspoon
Coriander leaves – 2 tbsp
Celery – 1/4 teaspoon
Curry leaves – 8-10
Oil – for frying
Salt – as per taste
Step 1: First, peel the onion and cut it into fine pieces. Remember to cut them into uniform thickness for easy frying.
Step 2: Next, chop the green chillies and green coriander.
Step 3: Now take a big mixing bowl and add the chopped onions to it. Add chopped green chilies, coriander, chili powder, cumin powder, celery, turmeric, ginger paste, and salt to taste and mix well.
Step 4: After mixing the onion and all the spices well, add gram flour and rice flour and mix. Remember that onions themselves are moist, so use water only when needed.
Step 5: Now add oil to a pan and heat it on medium heat. When the oil is hot, make pakoras of your favorite size from the onion mixture and drop them in the oil.
Step 6: Make and add as many onion fritters in the pan as can be flipped and fried easily. If you add too much fritters, there is a risk of them not frying properly. Fry the pakoras on medium heat till they turn golden.
Step 7: After that, take out the onion fritters on a plate. Make all the fritters in the same way. The hot pakodas are ready to be served on a plate with tea.
