Indian Open of Surfing (Grooms Boys 16 and Under) winner Kishore Kumar stood out with his brave and confident performance that earned him 16.83 points, the highest in the category.

Chennai boy, Kishore Kumar outshone every competitor on the opening day of the Mahabus Point Break Challenge – one of two back-to-back national surfing championships announced by the Surfing Federation of India. The two-day National Surfing Championships kicked off in a highly competitive field with a total of over 80 surfers competing for a place in the semi-finals and finals.
The day started with the quarter-final heats of the Grooms 16 & Under Boys category where Indian Open of Surfing (Grooms Boys 16 & Under) winner Kishore Kumar stood out with a brave and confident performance that earned him 16.83 points. Which is the highest in this category. . Other grooms who made it to the semi-finals scheduled for tomorrow are Tain Arun (8.70), Kalapathy S (11.50), Jeonathan O (7), Naveen Kumar R (11.66), Karanjeeth Kumar S (10.50), Lokesh S (10.50). ) 5.84) and Jeon S (10.50).
In the Surfing Men’s Open (17+) category, Kishore Kumar once again outclassed everyone else in his category with a brilliant performance of 17.33 points in Round 1, the highest score of the day. Kishore continued his momentum in the second round with 13 points, beating the experienced senior surfers to again earn the best score in the round for the category.

In the second round 2 Men’s Open (17+) category were Harish M (12.83), Ramesh Budhyal (12.77), Ajesh Ali (12.67), Shivraj Babu (12.50), Sanjay Kumar S (12.16), Srikanth D. (12), Ajit Govind (11.66) and Nitish Varun T and Rahul G both scored 11.17 points. Round 3 of the Surfing Men’s Open (17+) category will be played tomorrow followed by the Quarterfinals, Semifinals and Finals respectively.

“It’s definitely been a rewarding day, but we still have a long way to go. I’m glad I was able to perform as planned but tomorrow will be a tough day. I’m looking forward to tomorrow’s semi-final and final. ,” Kishore Kumar said after his brilliant performance.

The final day of the Mahabus Point Break Challenge will see the semifinals and finals of the Grooms 16 and Under Boys respectively, as well as the semifinals and finals of the Surfing Grooms 16 and Under Girls and Surfing Women’s Open. The finals of the surfing men’s open category will also be held tomorrow.
