The BJP on Saturday announced its candidates for the August 11 by-elections to the two vacant seats in the Uttar Pradesh Legislative Council. BJP state media in-charge Manish Dixit said on Saturday that the names of Dharmendra Singh Sentwar and Nirmala Paswan have been announced for the council elections in the list released by the party’s national general secretary Arun Singh.
Sentwar is the BJP president of Gorakhpur region while Paswan is the BJP vice president of Kashi region. The by-election process for the two vacant seats started from July 25.
These two seats fell vacant after the death of Samajwadi Party’s Ahmed Hasan and the resignation of BJP’s Thakur Javir Singh.
