Haryana’s Bhuvnesh Mandirta and Madhya Pradesh’s Niru led the first day in men’s and women’s trap respectively, as the T5 national selection trials for shotgun events got under way at the Oasis JDA Shooting Range in Jaipur.
According to information received here, Bhuvnesh shot a 72, tied with Shapath Bhardwaj, Lakshya Shevran and Kenan Chennai, but advanced on countback with two more rounds to go in the second day of qualifying on Thursday.
In the women’s competition, Niru scored 70 goals to lead state teammate Pragati Dubey who hit 67 goals on the day. Sabra Haris also scored 67 runs but is currently third on the countback.
On similar lines, Shapat and Sabira led the junior men’s and women’s trap competition respectively.
